Participate in Research-Your Voice Counts!
Middle managers are needed for research studying the impact of culture and ethnicity on job satisfaction.
Carrie Carroll, a student in the Master of Arts in Leadership program at Augsburg College, is conducting research on the influence of ethnicity on job satisfaction for middle managers in the state of Minnesota. The Job Descriptive Index, including the Job in General Scale, will be used to gather data on job satisfaction. The data will be analyzed to see if correlations exist between ethnicity and the five facets of job satisfaction. At least 25 participants from each of the following four ethnic groups: Hispanic/Latino, African American, Asian and Caucasian are needed. Participants need to be middle managers as defined by:
• Employees that have at least three direct reports.
• Employees that either oversee a budget of at least $10,000 or are responsible for budget decisions.
• Employees that have decision-making authority within an organization.
• Employees will have held their position (or a similar middle management position) for at least one year
Participants will be asked to complete an online survey (taking no longer than 10 minutes). If you are interested, log onto:

Hmong Women in the U.S.
My name is Pa Her and my goal is to learn more about Hmong women in the US. I am looking for Hmong women age 18 and over to participate in a study on Hmong women living in the United states and to shed light on motherhood, Hmong women’s ethnic identity, and the socialization of Hmong children. We will ask Hmong women to fill out some surveys about their socialization goals, and they will also tell us what they think about themselves. Participating will be online and take about 1 hour, which you may complete at your convenience. You do not have to be a mother, but must be willing to think about your goals for your children.
If you are interested in finding out more about the study or in scheduling an appointment, please call the Psychology Lab at (559) 824-536; (718)260-5741, by e-mail us at pher@citytech.cuny.edu, or visit us at:
